This piece is a shallow bowl created from Italian Silver Travertine . This stone has stripes of gray, ivory, tan, and blue. Travertine is best known for the small natural holes of varying sizes that can be found in every layer. The interior of this piece has been taken to a rough finish with a honed exterior for a subtle contrast. It has also been sealed with an FDA approved sealant to be partially water repellent and to resist staining.

Greenpoint Stone, founded by sculptors Kellie Pereira and Stephen Shaheen, is a design studio based in Brooklyn.
